Origens:
The Quarry Men – grupo formado em 1957 por John Lennon com vários amigos da escola onde estudava.

História:
Para propósitos de informação, os Beatles começaram a sua carreira em Liverpool, Inglaterra a 6 de Julho de 1957 quando John Lennon de 16 anos conheceu Paul McCartney de 15 anos. Foi durante uma pequena apresentação da pequena banda de Lennon The Quarry Men. Paul teve a impressão que John tinha algo especial e após uma troca de música depois do espectáculo, John surpreendeu-se com o facto de Paul saber tocar a guitarra e saber a letra toda de Twenty Flight Rock. Não passou muito tempo até John pedir a Paul para integrar a banda. Na primeira parte de 1958, Paul chamou o seu amigo de escola George Harrison para integrar também a banda. John não estava bem seguro disso. George tinha feito 15 anos, recentemente.

Os três guitarristas, juntamente com o baterista Pete Best e o amigo da escola de arte de John e baixista amador Stu Sutcliffe tocavam com nomes muito distantes(Johnny & The Moondogs, The Silver Beats, The Silver Beetles). Finalmente, adoptaram o nome The Beatles em Agosto de 1960. Apresentações constantes em The Cavern e estadias maçadoras em Hamburgo, Alemanha continuavam. Transformaram a banda num grupo de rock n´roll selvagem mas extremamente talentoso. Eventualmente, Stu deixou a banda e ficou na Alemanha para se concentrar na Arte. Paul passou a tocar baixo. O pequeno empresário de Liverpool Brian Epstein passou a ser o seu representante em Janeiro de 1962. O mais compatível Ringo Starr ocupou o lugar deixado por Pete em meados do ano. Nesse momento, os Beatle tinham encontrado a sua música. Tinham três vocalistas talentosos, uma muita boa apresentação e muitas canções originais( um facto muito raro agora). O alinhamento final causaria tanto distúrbio como a música popular que iria mudar para sempre.

Enraizada do Skiffle e do Rock and Roll da década de 1950, a banda veio mais tarde a assumir diversos géneros que vão do Folk Rock ao Rock Psicadélico, muitas vezes incorporando elementos da música clássica e outros em formas inovadoras e criativas. A sua crescente popularidade, que a imprensa britânica chamava de "Beatlemania", fizeram com que estes crescessem em sofisticação. Os Beatles vieram a ser percebidos como a encarnação de ideais progressistas e a sua influência estendeu-se até às revoluções sociais e culturais da década de1960.

No auge da “Beatlemania” em Agosto de 1966, surpreenderam o mundo ao dizer que deixariam de andar em digressão porque a histeria das digressões era demasiado para eles.

Os Beatles alcançaram um sucesso imediato no Reino Unido com seu primeiro single "Love Me Do". Ganhando popularidade internacional a partir do ano seguinte, excursionaram extensivamente até 1966, quando se retiraram para trabalhar em estúdio até sua separação definitiva em 1970. Cada músico então seguiu para uma carreira independente. McCartney e Starr continuam activos; Lennon foi baleado e morto em 1980, e Harrison morreu de cancro em 2001.

Apple Records é uma gravadora discográfica fundada em 1968 como divisão da Apple Corps pela banda The Beatles. Até 1975, as gravadoras EMI e Capitol Records concordaram em distribuir o material publicado pela Apple; enquanto a Apple mantinha os direitos sobre os álbuns de seus artistas contratados, EMI tinha os direitos de propriedade dos álbuns dos Beatles.

Além de servir como editora dos trabalhos dos Beatles a partir de 1968 passou também a servir como editora dos álbuns a solo de John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison e Ringo Starr desde 1970, altura em que estes se separaram, até 1975 quando a separação legal do conjunto foi obtida.

A Apple também contratou um bom número de artistas como Badfinger, Yoko Ono, Billy Preston, Ravi Shankar, James Taylor entre outros.

História:

A história do Helloween começou no final da década de 1970, mais precisamente no ano de 1978. Uma jovem banda alemã, chamada Gentry, que contava com Kai Hansen e Peter Sielck como alguns dos membros, foi o embrião para a formação do Helloween. Em 1980, a banda já havia sofrido algumas mudanças de formação e Markus Grosskopf (baixo) e Ingo Schwichtenberg (bateria) já faziam parte do line-up. Nessa época, o nome do grupo não era mais o mesmo: Second Hell foi o primeiro nome utilizado, mas que durou apenas dois meses, quando então eles batizaram a banda com o nome de "Iron First". Nesse período, sai Peter Sielck e entra o ex-Powerfool Michael Weikath, juntando-se à equipa e então finalmente deram o nome de "Helloween" para o grupo alemão, que tocava um Heavy Metal mais melódico do que o tradicional.
